Advancements in technology don’t happen by accident. The GFJC is on the forefront of forensic technology in education and training, offering a wealth of expertise regarding tools and techniques. Our experts have dozens of patents in a variety of disciplines. We evaluate technology to assess capabilities and applications, user experience and scientific outcomes.

We have unique experience to research, price, negotiate, order, commission and package the equipment your team needs to be effective from the start. Our expertise in testing and evaluation gives us the inside knowledge to help you spend your limited budget on the right equipment the first time.

Our partnership with the researchers at the FIU College of Engineering to solve real-world issues of speed and efficiency will provide better tools and instruments to tomorrow’s laboratories. The GFJC can directly connect the researcher to the end user as the technology is being developed. This not only speeds up the beta process but provides a working solution the moment the project is complete.

Miniature Ion Trap

The traditional mass spectrometer (MS) can take up a lot of counterspace and is hardly portable. We are partnering with Patrick Roman at the College of Engineering to develop a component of this larger analysis instrument - a miniature Ceramic Cylindrical Ion Trap (CCIT) Chip with low size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements to provide real-time information in a hand-held unit for mission-critical applications. Eventually this CCIT will fit into a field-portable MS the size of a soda can.
