The International Forensic Research Institute serves local and national law enforcement efforts in the application of scientific principles to the administration of justice. The mission of this self-supporting institute is to conduct original research in forensic science, transfer technologies from other scientific disciplines for use in forensic applications, provide scientific expertise to the law enforcement and legal community and to provide needed continuing education and advanced training to practicing scientists.
DeEtta Mills, Director
The National Forensic Science Technology Center, in Largo, Florida, works with laboratory, law enforcement and military professionals to improve forensic science practice in the US and around the world. NFSTC@FIU has the experience and expertise to improve quality and performance in almost any forensic discipline.
Kevin Lothridge, Executive Director
The Center for the Administration of Justice at FIU has been actively involved in justice system modernization since 1984. The center works both nationally and internationally with projects ranging from reforming prosecutorial systems in the United States to providing technical assistance and training to justice systems in Latin America. It's been the recipient of major grants from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, INL, NIJ, MacArthur Foundation and Koch Foundation for projects in the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean.
Luis Salas, Director
The Center for Advanced Research in Forensic Science serves as a platform for innovative and interdisciplinary forensic science research activities at the interface of academia, government, and industry. The center's research programs include forensic chemistry, digital forensics/data analytics, forensic molecular biology, behavioral sciences, forensic anthropology and forensic microbiology, with the possibility of future expansion to include other forensic disciplines.
