Testing and Evaluation

New technology requires technically rigorous and realistic test and evaluation before introduction into service. Developers of new devices, processes and instruments come to the GFJC for efficient and objective evaluations; our results are thorough and trusted. Proper data collection is vital to:

  • Demonstrate technical and functional capability
  • Identify and solve deficiencies during development
  • Support decisions on acquisition or fielding

Our decades of experience can evaluate a new technology for its intended purpose, or an older instrument for a novel approach for stronger investigative leads. To fully evaluate a given technology, GFJC assesses performance in conformity, reproducibility, sensitivity, specificity, maintenance, and sample consumption.

Our full suite of testing laboratories and experienced personnel provide complete and professional services. GFJC staff are familiar with government and industry best practices to help you:

  • Manage programmatic risk
  • Measure technical performance
  • Characterize operational suitability and effectiveness
CBRNE Tech Index

We are a trusted partner for the CBRNE Tech Index in increasing access to accurate and unbiased information about detection technology, allowing forensic agencies and investigators a way to compare and find tools that will best suit their needs.

Evaluations also include user-experience items like controls, screen readability, and SWaP (size, weight, and power). User manuals and troubleshooting instructions can be evaluated in a Limited User Assessment (LUA) test bed to provide a complete picture of how a piece of technology will work in the field or could be improved.

Your product support can also include training design and videos, maintenance and life-cycle care, end user documentation, reference documents, and adaptation to new tactics, techniques, and procedures for field preparation on any piece of equipment.
